Oakland School for the Arts performs "Marejada"
Congratulations to our friends at Oakland School for the Arts (a 50 for the Future Commissioning Partner) for their performance of Marejada, Angélica Negrón's Fifty for the Future piece which she wrote in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, specifically to be played from separate locations via a video conferencing platform.
Under the direction of OSA's Nick Kanozik, the students worked on the piece remotely throughout the fall semester, culminating in a live-streamed performance at their digital winter concert last weekend. We are so proud of these OSA students for finding such a creative and magical way to use Kronos' Fifty for the Future during this incredibly tough time!
We can't wait for next spring, when we'll be leading a Fifty for the Future distance-learning workshop with these students and others across the country!
